Chbika Project: The Minister Chairs the 2nd Follow-up Committee Meeting in Guelmim

Following the signing, on October 28, 2024, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him, and the President Emmanuel Macron, of the first contract for the development of green hydrogen in Morocco, the Minister of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies, Mr. Karim Zidane, chaired, on Tuesday 17 December 2024, the second meeting of the monitoring committee for this strategic project.

This meeting was held in Guelmim, the capital of the region designated to host this flagship project, led by the consortium Total, CIP, and AP Moller. It took place in the presence of the Wali of the region, Mr. Mohamed Najem Abhay, and the President of the Regional Council, Ms. Mbarka Bouaida, and The President of MASEN, Mr. Tarik Ameziane Moufaddal.

During the meeting, significant progress was confirmed for the implementation of the project, in line with Morocco's Green Hydrogen Offer, a strategic vision approved by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

This project represents a major first step in the implementation of this Offer, which aims to position the Kingdom as a global leader in renewable energy and sustainable development.
