
Luanda: The Minister represents His Majesty the King at the 17th U.S.-Africa Business Summit

The Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Investment, Convergence, and Evaluation of Public Policies, Mr. Karim Zidane, represented His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God Assist Him, at the 17th U.S.-Africa Business Summit, held in Luanda on June 22-25, 2025. The participation in this summit, which brought together several African heads of state and high government officials, aligns with the High Royal Directions aimed at strengthening Morocco’s economic partnerships with African countries and international partners.
The Minister led a significant delegation composed of public and private sector leaders and high officials, including the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE), the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM), the National Office of Railways (ONCF), the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), as well as MEDZ, MARSA Maroc, and representatives from Moroccan banks.
On the sidelines of the summit, the Minister held a series of bilateral meetings with several of his counterparts, including Mr. José de Lima Massano, Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Mr. Rui Miguêns de Oliveira, Minister of Industry and Commerce, and Mr. Isaac Francisco Maria dos Anjos, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Angola. He also exchanged views with Mr. Mohamed Chimi, the Egyptian Minister for Public Sector Affairs.
These exchanges confirmed a shared desire to strengthen dynamic and structural partnerships, particularly in the strategic sectors of investment, industry, agriculture, and trade. On this occasion, Mr. Zidane reaffirmed that, in line with the High Directions of His Majesty the King, Morocco is committed to promoting sustainable, inclusive, and mutually beneficial South-South cooperation, leveraging its strategic positioning in regional and global value chains and its attractive investment framework.
