Rabat: The Minister meets with a delegation of businessmen regarding a strategic lithium refining project in Morocco

Rabat, Wednesday, July 23, 2025 

The Minister of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies, Mr. Karim Zidane, received on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, in Rabat, a delegation from LG Energy Solution and Yahua Group, jointly promoting an investment project aimed at establishing a lithium refining unit in Morocco.

In line with the enlightened Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, the project will enable Morocco to strengthen its position as a regional hub in the electric battery value chain and to develop an innovative industrial cluster around lithium.

This large-scale project, whose first phase involves an investment of over 5.5 billion dirhams with the aim to create more than 430 high value-added direct jobs, was granted strategic project status during the 8th National Investment Commission.
