WTO: Morocco Achieves Consensus in Trade Policy Review

The Ministry of Investment, Convergence, and Evaluation of Public Policies, represented by Mr. Zakaria FARAHAT, Director of International Cooperation, Communication, and Partnerships, participated in the 6th Trade Policy Review (TPR) of Morocco at the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva from April 22 to 24, 2024.
The Trade Policy Review of Morocco concluded with an unprecedented consensus among WTO members, who praised and congratulated the reforms undertaken under the Enlightened Leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, in economic, social, and environmental domains, exemplified by the New Investment Charter.
This moment holds special importance and symbolism as it marks 30 years since over 120 countries gathered in Marrakech to reshape global trade by signing the Marrakesh Agreement establishing the WTO.
The Moroccan delegation presided over by the Director General of Trade of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Mr. Abdelouahed Rahal, included representatives from the departments of Industry and Trade, Economy and Finance, Agriculture and Fisheries, Transport, as well as the General Directorate of Customs, the Foreign Exchange Office, the National Office for Food Safety, and the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Morocco in Geneva.
