Africa CEO Forum : Invest in Morocco conference: Decarbonize to thrive

On the occasion of the 12th edition of the Africa CEO Forum, held on May 16-17, 2024, in Kigali, Rwanda, the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE) organized a session titled "Invest in Morocco: Decarbonize to thrive" which provided an overview of the exceptional investment opportunities available in the Kingdom. During this session, the Director of Communication, International Cooperation and Partnerships evoked that under the visionary Leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, Morocco has transformed challenges such as energy transition and climate change into real opportunities. “Today, the Kingdom is a world-class hub for sustainable investment and trade; the sole country in the world that has successfully increased its competitiveness by going green”, he added.
In this regard, the session witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development and the Rwanda Development Board with the aim to enhance south-south economic co-operation and explore perspectives for collaboration between the two institutions.
This session knew the participation of several figures, including the Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Ryad MEZZOUR, the President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises, Mr. Chakib ALJ, the CEO of Royal Air Maroc, Mr. Abdelhamid ADDOU, the Acting General Manager at Masen, Mr. Tarik HAMANE, the Director of Operations at OCP Africa, Mr. Mohamed HETTITI, the Chairman of the Board of Directors at LafargeHolcim Morocco, Mr. Said EL HADI, the Director of Communication, International Cooperation, and Partnerships at MICEPP, Mr. Zakaria FARAHAT, and Partner at Clifford Chance, Mrs. Ouns LEMSEFFER.
