
Spain Roadshow : The Minister chairs the Morocco Now Conference

The Minister of Investment Convergence and the Evaluation of Public Policies, Mr. Karim Zidane, chaired, on Tuesday April 29, 2025, in Madrid, the “Morocco Now” Conference, organized in partnership with the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE), as part of the roadshow aimed at strengthening Morocco’s attractiveness to international investors.
Held under the theme “Morocco and Spain: Investing Together for a Shared and Sustainable Future”, this high-level event brought together prominent public and private stakeholders from both countries to explore future avenues of economic cooperation in strategic sectors such as industry, renewable energy, tourism, agriculture, electronics, and waste management.
In his address, Minister Zidane emphasized the structural transformation of Morocco’s investment landscape, driven by bold reforms undertaken under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him. He highlighted the central role of the new Investment Charter in establishing a modern, transparent, and incentive-based framework aimed at attracting value-added investments and fostering inclusive growth.
The Minister reaffirmed Morocco’s positioning as a strategic gateway between Africa, Europe and the wider Atlantic space, and called for the consolidation of the economic partnership with Spain, particularly in view of the shared ambition to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
The event saw strong institutional participation, including Ms. Amparo López Senovilla, Secretary of State for Trade of the Kingdom of Spain, who underlined the strategic depth of Moroccan-Spanish relations and welcomed the reforms initiated by the Kingdom to enhance its economic competitiveness.
The forum was also attended by H.E. Karima Benyaich, Ambassador of His Majesty the King to Spain; Mr. Khalid Safir, Director General of CDG Group; Mr. Chakib Alj, President of CGEM; Mr. Antonio Garamendi, President of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE); and Mr. Adel Raiss, Co-President of the Moroccan-Spanish Business Council (CEMAES). Several Moroccan and Spanish investors, along with representatives of leading financial institutions, took part in the discussions.
