Béni Mellal – Khénifra: 16th Board of Directors Meeting of the Regional Investment Center

The Minister of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies, Mr. Karim Zidane, chaired the 16th session of the Board of Directors of the Regional Investment Center (CRI) of Béni Mellal – Khénifra on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

This meeting is part of the ongoing reform of the Regional Investment Centers, launched in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 24-22 amending and supplementing Law No. 47-18 on the reform of CRIs and the creation of the Unified Regional Investment Commissions (CRUI). The reform aims to strengthen their role in fostering investment attractiveness and providing tailored support to investors.

On this occasion, the Minister recalled the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, which emphasizes promoting investment and accelerating reforms to boost economic growth. He highlighted the key role played by CRIs in streamlining procedures and unifying the investor journey, thus fostering a business-friendly environment and generating sustainable employment opportunities.

He also commended the outstanding performance of the Béni Mellal – Khénifra CRI over the past three years, with approved investments exceeding 86 billion dirhams—three times the amount recorded between 2019 and 2021. The Minister stressed the need to continue efforts to improve the business climate and reinforce regional attractiveness, in alignment with the objectives of the new Investment Charter and the ambitions of the Béni Mellal – Khénifra Region.

During the session, the Acting Director of the Béni Mellal – Khénifra CRI, Mr. Adil Azmi, presented the 2024 financial statements and the Center’s annual activity report for approval. He highlighted the Center’s significant achievements, particularly the performance of the CRUI, which reviewed 457 investment proposals and approved projects valued at over 20.8 billion dirhams, with the potential to create more than 13,700 jobs—all while maintaining an average processing time of less than five days. These results reflect the effectiveness of the reforms implemented and the strong mobilization of regional stakeholders.

The Director also presented the Center’s contributions in areas such as territorial planning, business climate improvement, economic animation, and territorial promotion, along with its commitment to supporting over 1,300 project holders and Very Small, Small, and Medium Enterprises (VSMEs).At the end of the meeting, the Board members unanimously adopted all the resolutions.

In this context, the Béni Mellal – Khénifra CRI reaffirms its commitment to supporting the region in achieving its ambitions as an emerging hub for investment attraction.
