The celebration of the 22nd anniversary of the Royal Initiative for the Development of the Oriental Region

As part of the celebration of the 22nd anniversary of the Royal Initiative for the Development of the Oriental Region, launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in 2003, the Minister of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies, Mr. Karim Zidane, participated on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in a high-level meeting on investment in the Oriental Region. The event was organized by the Wilaya and the Regional Council, in partnership with MEDZ and the Regional Investment Center.
Presided over by the Wali of the Oriental Region and the President of the Regional Council, the meeting provided an opportunity to highlight the region’s major investment potential and the support mechanisms offered by the Investment Charter, through Regional Investment Centers, to enhance the region’s attractiveness and encourage productive investments.
Participants also emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts and strengthening convergence among different stakeholders to ensure the alignment of various investment initiatives, fostering sustainable economic development.
In this context, the Minister signed a Memorandum Of Understanding with Fränkische Industrial Pipes GmbH & Co. KG, aimed at mobilizing an investment of over 100 million dirhams by 2032 and creating 150 permanent jobs by 2028. This initiative reflects Morocco’s commitment to attracting high-value investments and boosting regional economic growth.
