
Davos : The Minister Takes Part in the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum

The Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, Convergence, and the Evaluation of Public Policies participated in the 55th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), held this week in Davos, Switzerland, under the theme “Collaboration in the Age of Intelligence.”
During strategic sessions and meetings, Mr. Zidane highlighted the major advancements achieved by the Kingdom under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him. He also emphasized Morocco’s ambitions and strengths in attracting strategic investments, leveraging global energy and digital transitions, which open up concrete opportunities for the country. He noted that these twin transitions further strengthen Morocco’s position as a key player on the international economic stage and as a model of sustainability and economic resilience.
Throughout the Forum, the Minister held a series of bilateral meetings with prominent decision-makers and investors to promote Morocco’s unique opportunities as a preferred destination for investment and global trade. Among the distinguished figures he met were Vincent Clerc, CEO of A.P. Moller - Maersk, Omar Berrada, CEO of Manchester United, Jim Hagemann Snabe, Chairman of Siemens, Luc Vandenbulcke, CEO of DEME Group, Hiroshi Matsuda, Senior Vice President of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries EMEA, and Guy Parmelin, Swiss Federal Minister of Economy.
Additionally, strategic discussions took place with Morten Dyrholm, Senior Vice President of Vestas Wind Systems, Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Chairman of Schneider Electric, Ilham Kadri, CEO of Solvay, and Luc Rémont, CEO of EDF Group. These discussions identified concrete collaboration opportunities in key sectors such as renewable energy, infrastructure, and advanced technologies.
The exchanges also highlighted the growing interest of global economic leaders in Morocco’s dynamic investment potential and its role as a connector and catalyst in regional and global economic transformation.
This major international event gathered over 3,000 participants from 130 countries, including heads of state, government officials, influential civil society figures, and leaders from the world's 1,000 largest companies, representing nearly 40% of global market capitalization. Among the world leaders present in Davos were Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, Ding Xuexiang, Vice Premier of China, Olaf Scholz, Chancellor of Germany, Javier Milei, President of Argentina, and Pedro Sánchez, Prime Minister of Spain. Also attending were heads of major international organizations, including UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
U.S. President Donald Trump, who was inaugurated on Monday, addressed the WEF 2025 via videoconference on Thursday.
This year's discussions revolved around five fundamental and interconnected pillars: reimagining growth, industries in the age of intelligence, investing in human resources, safeguarding the planet, and rebuilding trust.
