Electric Mobility : The Minister Meets with the Vice President of BTR New Material Group

Rabat, Monday, January 7, 2025

As part of the monitoring of strategic investment projects in the electric mobility sector, the Minister of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies, Mr. Karim Zidane, held a meeting on Monday, January 7, 2025, with Mr. YANG Shuzhan, Vice President of BTR New Material Group, a global leader in cathode and anode materials for electric batteries.

Discussions focused on the progress of the cathode production facility, launched at the beginning of 2024, as well as BTR’s plans to launch a second investment project dedicated to the construction of an anode factory within the Mohammed VI Tanger Tech City. Both facilities are expected to be completed by 2026.

The implementation of these two projects, representing a total investment of over 6 billion dirhams and creating more than 1,100 highly skilled jobs, will play a key role in establishing a complete value chain for electric mobility in the Kingdom.
