The Minister on Tour in Barcelona and Bilbao to Strengthen Investment Dynamics Between Morocco and Spain

Mr. Mohcine JAZOULI, the Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, Convergence, and Public Policy Evaluation, accompanied by a delegation including the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE) and the CGEM, participated in two business meetings in Barcelona and Bilbao, co-organized by the Morocco-Spain Economic Council (CEMAES), Foment del Treball Nacional, the main employers' organization in Catalonia, and the Confederación Empresarial Vasca (CONFEBASK), the main employers' organization in the Basque Country. The Business Forum, held in Barcelona on January 29, brought together over two hundred leaders from Moroccan and Catalan companies to discuss ways to strengthen investment dynamics.

This forum follows the Joint Declaration of Morocco-Spain established following the meeting between His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, and the Spanish Prime Minister, Mr. Pedro Sánchez, in April 2022.

The Moroccan delegation was also welcomed on Tuesday, January 30, by the Confederación Empresarial Vasca (CONFEBASK) in Bilbao. Discussions focused on various topics related to Basque investments in Morocco. In parallel, visits were organized to emblematic production units of the Basque industry, as well as working sessions with members of the Spanish railway ecosystem association, MAFEX.

These meetings demonstrate the shared commitment to further strengthen, encourage, and catalyze existing investment opportunities for the business communities of both countries. They also underline the strength of diplomatic relations and renewed economic partnership between Morocco and Spain. The agenda also included several working meetings with Spanish business leaders in key sectors such as automotive, aerospace, railway, renewable energies, household appliances, textiles, or the pharmaceutical industry.
