Agadir, 6 et 7 février 2025

As part of the implementation of the National Private Investment Strategy, the Minister of Investment, Convergence, and Public Policy Evaluation, Mr. Karim Zidane, conducted a working visit to the Souss-Massa region. This mission, marked by strategic meetings and site visits, aimed to enhance the region’s attractiveness and accelerate its economic momentum.

On February 6, the Minister held a meeting with investors in the presence of the President of the Regional Council, representatives of professional chambers, and the President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) Souss-Massa. This meeting provided an opportunity to highlight the region’s economic strengths, particularly in agriculture, maritime fisheries, industry, and tourism. It also served as a platform to discuss the necessary measures to support investors, simplify procedures, and improve the business climate. On this occasion, the Minister reiterated the strategic role of the Regional Investment Center (CRI) in facilitating administrative procedures and attracting both national and international investments.

The following day, the Minister held an extended meeting with the Souss-Massa CRI team to review progress made and explore areas for improvement. Discussions focused on the CRI’s key achievements, its action plan to enhance investor support and major projects, as well as the simplification of administrative procedures and coordination among various economic stakeholders. The Minister commended the efforts undertaken by the CRI to boost private investment in the region, emphasizing that these initiatives are fully aligned with the implementation of the National Private Investment Strategy by mobilizing strategic investments and creating high-value-added jobs.

The visit concluded with a site visit to a major industrial packaging unit belonging to a renowned international group. Benefiting from support under the New Investment Charter, this company specializes in the production and export of paper and its derivatives for international markets. The Minister observed the various stages of manufacturing, which adhere to international quality and environmental safety standards. A presentation was also given on future investment prospects aimed at increasing productivity through green technologies and sustainable manufacturing processes. He reaffirmed the importance of supporting such industrial projects, which not only contribute to the competitiveness of national exports but also position the Souss-Massa region as an attractive investment hub in strategic sectors.
